Control-M/R for z/OS - Extended functions I

This seminar builds on the CONTROL-M/R basic course and deepens the knowledge of the extended functions of CONTROL-M and CONTROL-M/Restart (CONTROL-R). Participants will gain insight into the internal structure of the system, installation parameters and the day change process. Enhanced scheduling and simulations are explained in a practical way using exercises. Participants will also learn about the available utilities and how CONTROL-M/R is integrated into the IOA family. Information on cross-platform scheduling with Control-M/Enterprise Manager rounds off the seminar.

Practical exercises, which make up 50% of the seminar, consolidate the knowledge acquired and enable participants to make optimum use of the extended functions of CONTROL-M and CONTROL-R.

    Internal structure of CONTROL-M/R, installation parameters (IOAPARM, CTMPARM, CTRPARM) and important files.
  • Administration & daily change:
    Administration of the daily change and temporary submit libraries.
  • Advanced scheduling:
    SMART Tables, Rule-Based Calendar (RBC), DO FORCEJOB and linked planning criteria.
  • Job control & auto-edit:
    End user job order interface and extended auto-edit variables.
  • Simulation & control:
    Simulation of job runs, MAY BE Conditions, CONTROL-R control cards and CMEM.
  • Utilities:
    Important IOA & CONTROL-M utilities.
