Control-M for Distributed Systems - Basics for Users

This seminar offers you a comprehensive introduction to the basics of Control-M/Server and Control-M/Enterprise Manager. With no prior knowledge required, the course is aimed specifically at data center employees who use Control-M in productive environments.

Participants receive a thorough overview of the central components and learn how to use the Control-M Workload Automation GUI effectively. Practical exercises will enable you to plan jobs independently and monitor the entire job process. You will be optimally equipped to use the Control-M platform successfully in your day-to-day work.

Focal points:

  • Architecture and components:
    Overview of Control-M/Enterprise Manager and Server, as well as their central functions.
  • Scheduling basics:
    Introduction to the scheduling concept, working with conditions, resources and calendars.
  • User management:
    Login and logout, management of login profiles.
  • Operation of the GUI:
    Navigation, window structure, ViewPoints, monitoring and control of jobs.
  • Job creation and management:
    Creation of jobs with templates, job definitions, post processing, folder management.
  • AUTO-EDIT variables:
    Use of AUTO-EDIT variables and control commands in UNIX and Windows scripts.
  • Monitoring and control:
    Use of filters, alarm window and resource map for monitoring.

    Procedure

    Our courses and workshops can be booked flexibly as remoteor on-site training courses directly at your company. The prices listed below refer to both of these options; onsite is charged plus travel costs. On-site training courses offer the advantage that we can focus specifically on your IT infrastructure and develop practical solutions together with your employees.

    We offerin-house training courses at our premises or external premises in Munich exclusively on request. Please note that different conditions apply - we will be happy to inform you of these if you are interested.

    A special service: We offer our training courses for as few as one participant.

    Prices

    Number of participants 1:

    The course can be booked as an individual training course from €3,795.
    An additional travel fee of €1,500 is charged for training courses held on your premises (onsite). Any external room costs incurred will be charged separately.

    Number of participants 2-5:

    For groups of 2 to 5 participants, the all-inclusive price is € 7,090.
    An additional travel fee of € 1,500 is charged for training courses at your premises (onsite). Any external room costs incurred will be charged separately.

    Number of participants 6-10:

    Prices for larger groups of 6 or more participants are available on request.
    A flat-rate travel fee of €1,500 is also charged for on-site training. Any external room costs incurred will be shown separately.
